HWG Sababa Acquires 70% of Akito: A New Era of Growth and Innovation

Milan, February 13, 2025 – HWG Sababa proudly announces today the acquisition of Akito S.r.l. marking another significant milestone in strengthening its position in the cybersecurity market. This acquisition enables HWG Sababa to accelerate its growth trajectory and reinforce its role as a leading innovator in the industry.

The details of the transaction confirm the acquisition of a 70% stake in Akito, which will continue to operate under its own governance and brand. This strategic move aims to build a strong synergy between the two companies, leveraging their complementary operational strengths while preserving Akito’s identity within the HWG Sababa group.

For both companies, this acquisition represents a strategic expansion: on one side, HWG Sababa will strengthen its presence in Central and Southern Italy, broadening its market reach; on the other side, Akito will enhance its technological capabilities with the support of a well-established group and one of Europe’s leading 24/7 Security Operations Centers.

Alessio Aceti, CEO of HWG Sababa, stated: “HWG Sababa is a company in constant evolution, with an ambitious and forward-thinking vision. The acquisition of Akito is a key step in a broader growth strategy that includes further strategic operations in the future. The collaboration between HWG Sababa and Akito is built on solid foundations and has further strengthened throughout 2024, evolving into an even stronger partnership.” He added: “We are excited to welcome all Akito professionals into our group. Together, we will expand and enhance our offering, further solidifying our market presence.

Fabio Naccazzani, CEO of Akito, commented: “Over the past eight years, Akito has achieved significant milestones, supporting numerous companies in both the public and private sectors in tackling cybersecurity challenges. We are well aware of how far we can push our capabilities. For this reason,” – Naccazzani continued, we embrace with great enthusiasm our entry into the HWG Sababa group, with whom we share the same vision and approach. The combination of our expertise and our thirty years of experience in the sector will give us a competitive advantage, allowing us to be even more effective in delivering technologies and services.

The acquisition of Akito by HWG Sababa represents a strategic step towards shared growth, ensuring stability and operational continuity for all partners and stakeholders. To uphold the values that have made Akito a trusted name in cybersecurity, the company will continue to operate under its own brand while maintaining its current governance structure.

This integration brings significant added value for clients, who will continue to benefit from the same high standards of quality, reliability, and professionalism, while gaining access to a broader, more advanced international ecosystem of expertise. Similarly, the commitment towards clients, partners, and employees remains unwavering, ensuring continuity in the constant evolution of services and providing even more effective cybersecurity support.

The next phase will focus on effectively integrating the two organizations. Throughout 2025, key operational processes will be aligned and optimized to ensure seamless synergy. The two companies have already collaborated in the past, and these successful partnerships will serve as the foundation for a swift and effective integration.

This integration is future-oriented and aims to enhance strategic capabilities in an ever-evolving sector. The union of HWG Sababa and Akito is designed to meet the growing security needs of clients, particularly in IT and OT cybersecurity.
Key focus areas include:

    • HyperSOC, an advanced service leveraging high-performance automation and artificial intelligence.
    • Cybersecurity governance consulting and compliance support for NIS2 and other industry regulations, such as the new Machinery Regulation, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF.
    • National security frameworks and increasingly in-demand cybersecurity services, such as penetration testing and realistic adversary attack simulations (cyber ranges).

As the cybersecurity landscape faces increasingly sophisticated threats, growth and innovation become essential to ensure the highest levels of cybersecurity and maintain business continuity despite persistent targeted attacks.
